Situated opposite the R21 on the Eastern boundary, and the Jet Park lake on the Western boundary, the recently constructed new head office and workshop facility for SKF stands on top of the same land that Fraser Alexander once occupied. Construction, having commenced on the on the 4th February 2019 was recently completed on the 24th February 2020, with SKF taking occupation thereafter. Designed by ICM Architects, the building sports a modern curved louvre on the front façade overlaid by a particularly contrasting angled off-shutter concrete roof slab which adds a defining feature to the office block that one can easy identify on the way to O.R Tambo International Airport if you are travelling that way. The facility also comprises a new workshop and warehouse facility. The workshop has a new twenty tonne gantry crane installed which allows for the loading and offloading of the large bearing products, which SKF is famous for. The warehouse facility comprises a brand new DM2 surface bed with facility for nineteen very narrow aisle racks designed to reach heights of eleven and a half meters.

We are humbled and proud to have been provided the opportunity to be part of a project that we are confident will become a significant part of the Boksburg landscape in years to come.”
